On Saturday, January 27th, 2024, the General Secretariat of the Pastoral Youth Office in Galilee, held its first meeting titled - “The Boss” - for the preparatory and secondary group, at Jaffa of Nazareth Parish - Saint John The Apostle Church.
Fr. Ramez Twal, the General Chaplain, opened the meeting by praying and asking for the intercession of St. John Bosco - whose Feast Day is celebrated this month - while making mention of the Saint’s most beautiful and famous spoken words to the youth: "It is not enough to love the young, they must know they are loved.” Then, all got acquainted with the participating parishes, which was followed by ice-breaker activities.
The meeting was hosted by Mr. Elias Elias, a specialist in social development, who spoke about the topic of power and bullying which is experienced by middle and high school students. It was followed by a panel discussion and lunch.
Fr. Nidal Qanzou’ah, the parish priest of Jaffa-Nazareth, presided over a Mass for the youth, which was concelebrated by Fr. Ramez, and the Deacon Ruben Rusk.
To note, 183 Christian Latin youth participated in this meeting, as well as several religious sisters, both from various parishes, such as Jaffa Nazareth (the host parish), Haifa, Shafa'amr, Nazareth, Mouqeibleh, Reneh, Maaliya, and Al-Jesh; from all over the region of Galilee.
