Ramallah, March 2025 — The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem (LPJ) has successfully completed the construction of a state-of-the-art multipurpose hall at Al-Ahliyeh School in Ramallah, marking a major milestone in its strategic educational development across Palestine.
Funded through the generous donor support of the Knights of the Holy Sepulcher (German Lieutenancy) and valued at $170,000, the 240-square-meter facility directly supports LPJ’s broader mission of providing high-quality, accessible education to all—regardless of socioeconomic status. The project aligns with LPJ's strategic vision of improving technological capacities, enhancing human resources, and expanding educational infrastructure.
Strategic Objectives Realized
The new facility was designed to:
- Support the professional development of over 500 educators
- Improve learning conditions for more than 6,000 students
- Provide a centralized training space to advance teaching excellence
- Create a sustainable environment for continuous education and innovation
With features including two dedicated training halls, a resource room, a modern lounge, and integrated technical systems, the hall is fully equipped to host interactive workshops, professional coaching, and student-centered events.
Educational and Financial Impact
The project is already transforming the school community. For the 615 students and 47 teachers at Al-Ahliyeh School, the new space enables dynamic academic and extracurricular engagement, fostering creativity and collaboration. Training sessions for educators—scheduled during non-instructional periods—ensure minimal disruption while maximizing development opportunities.
Beyond pedagogy, the project delivers significant financial benefits. By centralizing events and training in-house, the school will save on external venue rentals and reduce facility maintenance costs, reinforcing operational sustainability.
A Model for the Region
This initiative reaffirms the LPJ’s leadership in educational innovation and its steadfast commitment to serving Palestinian communities. As the third-largest employer in Palestine’s nonprofit sector, LPJ continues to drive positive social change through education.
The multipurpose hall at Al-Ahliyeh is more than just a building—it’s a symbol of hope, resilience, and the transformative power of learning.
