Under the patronage and blessing of Mons. Rafiq Nahra, Patriarchal Vicar in Galilee, a solemn Mass was celebrated on Friday, September 5, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Church in Shafa'amr. The celebration marked the opening of the new academic year for the School of the Sisters of Nazareth and the Latin Patriarchate Kindergarten, with the participation of the teaching staff.
The Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Ramez Twal, parish priest of St. Joseph and spiritual chaplain, together with the Sisters, Mr. Rami Srour, principal of the Sisters’ school, and members of the educational staff.
At the beginning of the celebration, Fr. Ramez welcomed the bishop and the teachers, highlighting the importance of starting the school year with prayer and gathering around the Holy Altar.
In his homily, Mons. Nahra emphasized the value of the educational mission, urging teachers to listen to and love their students, and to be attentive to their needs so that they may always feel supported and cared for. He also encouraged an atmosphere of love and collaboration among the teaching staff, fostering deeper educational and human growth.
At the conclusion of the Mass, Mons. Nahra offered prayers for the educators, wishing them a blessed academic year filled with goodness, spiritual growth, and success in their mission.
