The Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem is currently looking for qualified candidates for the current job post; Junior Site Engineer – full time duty, to join the technical department under the direct administrative and functional supervision of the Senior Engineer – technical manager at the HQ offices in Jerusalem.
General Overview:
Under the supervision of the senior technical manager, the site engineer is responsible for the effective and efficient follow up, coordination, site supervision, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting of the different projects of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem in the different regions of the diocese; West Bank areas with Gaza, and the Galilee, as per the direction of the senior technical manager and according to the procedures set by the general administration. S/He conducts the monitoring role pertaining to the departments' projects and programs following the internal policies of the LPJ. Maintain efficient workflow and communication strategy among the different internal and external entities of the LPJ.
Responsibilities and tasks:
- Receives and seeks approval from the direct supervisor for detailed programs and scope of work.
- Acts as the focal point between the direct supervisor, the beneficiaries, and the site contractors for proper workflow.
- Manages the projects’ workflow and oversees the progress of projects’ elements.
- Assist in the review, analysis and follow up on all submitted tenders including bill of quantities, specifications, method of work and terms of contracts to all tenders and contracts, together with the technical and the procurement manager.
- Directs and reports on the work of the contractors on sites.
- Ensures that all work activities of the different projects are in accordance with the approved project time frame and set of standards.
- Performs sites’ visits to follow up, take necessary measurements, or resolve contractors’ delays on behalf of the senior engineer.
- Frequently serves as a liaison between the senior engineering team and the construction workers. S/He works closely with the lead engineer to develop projects’ schedules and deliverable timelines.
- Checks the approved materials and supplies’ selection process, to ensure compliance with the standards set by the owner.
- Reviews all measurements, tests and plans are as executed and confirm final as built drawing are correct as to the works executed.
- Prepares and reviews all the as built drawings, detailed drawings, and tender bill of quantities for the projects.
- Monitors and reports on the progress of projects, confers with contractors, and reviews reports to see that development is progressing according to schedule.
- Issues further instructions and clarifications of details as are necessary and seek approval from the project beneficiaries and the senior engineer.
- Reports any violations or breach of contracts and recommends the adequate prompt remedy action to be taken in coordination with the senior technical manager.
- Follows all projects’ documents cycles, including monthly reports, sample approvals, site memos and requests for information and future reference.
- Assists in the preparation of the required reports related to the projects upon the request of the direct supervisor, including the technical progress and final reports to all assigned projects.
- Discharges responsibilities in an ethical manner.
- Protects LPJ's value by keeping information confidential.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, or equivalent.
- Proven 2+ years of relevant work experience.
- Training and experience in Project Management is highly desirable.
- Internship in related fields is highly desirable.
- Valid Israeli driving license with a clean record.
- Working knowledge in Hebrew language.
- Must be able to travel to various job sites and traverse locations independently.

- Proficient with related software programs, MS. Office Suite, Oracle, AutoCAD, and Adobe software.
