Coadjutor of Patriarch Fouad

Most Rev. Fouad Twal

23 October 1940 - born in Madaba, Jordan.
October 1959 - he entered the patriarchal seminary at Beit Jala June 29th 1966 - ordained a priest.
August 1966 - became the deputy Parish Priest of Ramallah, in January 1967 - Parish Priest of Irbid.
June 1968
- Parish Priest of Mahatta.
September 1972 - began his studies in Canon Law at the Pontifical University of the Lateran in Rome and in 1974 was admitted to the the Ecclesiastical Pontifical Academy.
1975 - received the licentiate in canon law.
From 1977 to 1992 he carried out diplomatic service in the apostolic nunciatures of Honduras, Germany and Peru, and in the Council for Political Affairs of the State Secretariat.
May 30th 1992 - named bishop of Tunis
- was promoted to archbishop. He was also the president of the regional bishops´ conference of North Africa.
september 2005 - appointed Coadjutor Archbishop for the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem by His Holiness Pope Benedict XVI.
March 14th 2006 - appointed President of Bethlehem University.
January 29th 2007 -
appointed Member of the Pontifical Council for Inter - Religious Dialogue.
