To greet him one last time, a number of priests, religious and faithful attended the concelebrated Mass at Notre Dame Center on Sunday, August 28, including Archbishop Pizzaballa, Apostolic Administrator of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem; Bishop Marcuzzo, Patriarchal Vicar In Palestine; Bishop Emeritus Bathish; and Father Patton, Custos of the Holy Land.  Archbishop Melki, Patriarchal Exarch of Jerusalem and Holy Land for the Syriac-Catholic Church; Archbishop El-Hage, Maronite Archbishop of Haifa and the Holy Land; and Archbishop Zerey, Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarchal Vicar for Jerusalem were also present.

In his homily and in the letter addressed to the entire Church of the Holy Land today, he reaffirmed his desire to remain united in prayer, which draws close those who are miles apart.
