From August 8th to August 11th, the Franciscan Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart organized a summer come-and-see program for young girls between 13 and 20. The girls came from two parishes in Cyprus: Larnaca and Limassol.
“The aim of this program was to present a bit of our work and to reflect on faith and vocation,” explained Sr. Roly, one of the Sisters who organized the event. “Mgr. George Panamthundil [Chargé d'Affaires of the Apostolic Nunciature], helped Sr. Aurora and I organize the whole thing, especially with the Holy Eucharistic celebration and homily, which enriched the girls' experience.”
At the end of the experience, the girls thanked the Sisters warmly, expressing their gratitude for the program. “We would just like to say a massive thank you to all of you for welcoming us into your little paradise with open arms, and being wonderful hosts to us during these past few days. It’s been a pleasure to gain an insight into the sacrificial life that you all lead; always putting others before yourselves, helping those in need, and above all coming together to share and spread your immense love for God."
This is not the first initiative for the youth offered by the Franciscan sisters living in Cyprus; Sr. Roly is also in charge of the St. Barnabas Youth Group, which started in 2019.
