Meeting with the consecrated women in Bethlehem

On June 6th, 2023, His Beatitude Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, met and celebrated Mass with the consecrated women in Bethlehem) Ordo Virginum(. The Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Marcelo Gallardo, IVE, general secretary for ACOHL.
This is the second time His Beatitude meets with them, during which he encouraged them to live out their mission and to continuously pray for the Christians of this land by holding vigil prayers. “The special charism you carry adds to the life of the Church here in Bethlehem and Jerusalem, the diocese you have been admitted to,” he addressed the four members of the Ordo Virginum.
In his homily, Mgr Pizzaballa highlighted the need to be aware of the Christians needs here in Bethlehem and updated them on the plans to be established in the area that will help provide aid for the parishioners. “Despite all the problems we are faced with on a social, and political level, there is grace found amidst the pain, where you truly experience that you are not part of this world but vessels for God to shine His love and mercy to others”.
He ended by asking the Holy Spirit to fill their hearts with the joy and hope of Christ in order to be image bearers of the Son, Jesus Christ.
