Nativity of the Virgin Mary and the Silver jubilee of The French Sisters of the Holy Cross of Jerusalem

On the occasion of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, which coincided with the silver jubilee of The French Sisters of the Holy Cross of Jerusalem, Mgr William Shomali, General Vicar, presided over a mass in the Latin parish of Christ the Redeemer - Taybeh, on Friday, September 8th, 2023, in the presence of Former Patriarch Michel Sabbah, as well as several priests and faithful.
The French sisters have been serving the Christians of Taybeh in various ways, the most important of which, is receiving pilgrims, providing accommodation for them, overseeing French language education, and many other pastoral activities
In his homily, Mgr Shomali focused on the important role of the Virgin Mary, being the mother of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Through her simple and humble "yes", the Virgin Mary was given the privilege of carrying the Son of God in her womb and bringing about the salvation of the world through the death and resurrection of her Son.
At the end of the celebration, Fr. Bashar Fawadleh, parish priest of Taybeh, thanked the sisters for their dedicated service to the parish and exchanged congratulations with the rest of the faithful in the churchyard.
