On Saturday, June 10th, 2023, His Beatitude Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, presided over a Mass at Saint James the Apostle Church, for the feast of Corpus Christi.

Mass was concelebrated by Fr. Raphael, Fr. George, and Fr. Davide, in the presence of many faithful.

In his homily, His Beatitude focused on the importance of the Eucharist in the Christian faith, which gives meaning to our life. “We should strive to live a life worthy for us to receive the heavenly bread that allows Christ to dwell in our hearts.” He also urged them to work for heavenly treasures instead of earthly treasures by living a Christian life full of giving. “Joy is found in giving not taking”. He ended saying: “Christianity is not a religion but a way of living.”

After Mass, a Eucharistic procession was held in the court of Saint James. His Beatitude carried the Blessed Sacrament as the faithful sang Tantum ergo, the motet that enriches the repertoire of salvation in the Blessed Sacrament.
