On Saturday, May 14th, the entire community of the Vicariate for Migrants and Asylum Seekers (VMAS) celebrated the patronal feast of their pastoral center in Tel Aviv. The celebration was presided by Fr. Nikodemus Schnabel, OSB, Patriarchal Vicar for Migrants and Asylum Seekers; the co-celebrants included Fr. David Neuhaus, former coordinator of the pastoral care for migrants and asylum seekers, and Fr. Renato R. Santos, director of the Our Lady Woman of Valor center and Chaplain of the Filipino Chaplaincy.
After the Mass, the faithful were able to taste each community's cuisine in the courtyard of the church; India's rice cakes, the Philippines' soy noodles and chicken, Ethiopia's sweet bread, Sri Lanka's kottu... There was also a workshop from the association Kuchinate, where people could buy handmade products designed by African asylum-seeking women living in Tel Aviv.
