Spiritual retreat in Reneh

In preparation for the Lenten season, Mgr Rafiq Nahra, Patriarchal Vicar for Israel, and Fr. Eli Kurzum, director-general of the schools of the Latin Patriarchate in Israel, held a spiritual meeting for the teachers at the Latin Patriarchate school of Reneh, on Monday, March 13th, 2023, in the presence of Fr. Raed Abu Sahlyeh, parish priest of Reneh. It was part of a series of meetings held at all the LPJ schools in Galilee.
The theme of the spiritual meeting was the temptations of Jesus in the wilderness. Mgr Nahra reflected on the spiritual lessons teachers can take from the scripture (Mathew 04: 1-11), saying, in response to the first temptation, that "feeding on the word of God is essential for the teachers to be able to feed their students spiritually". "Fasting is more than fasting from food… we are called to build a relationship with God, for He alone is our sustainer and provider," Fr. Kurzum added.
The meeting ended with Mr. Shadi Abu Khadra leading a discussion focused on the main mission of the Christian schools in the diocese.
