In light of the Lenten Season, and as a preparation for the welcoming of Easter, a spiritual meeting was held for the teachers at the Latin Patriarchate school of Ramah, on Friday, March 10th, 2023. This is the third meeting of a series of meetings organized and led by Mgr Rafiq Nahra, Patriarchal Vicar for Israel, and Fr. Eli Kurzum, the director-general of the schools of the Latin Patriarchate in Israel.

The meeting focused on the temptation of Jesus (Mathew 4: 1-11). Mgr Nahra gave a lecture, which tackled the spiritual foods teachers can take from this scripture, to help them accomplish their mission as teachers. He emphasized saying: “teachers have a higher calling from God, to raise the upcoming generations through their words and actions.” He also said, reflecting on the third temptation: “Truth and faith are our pillars, they help us achieve our mission, just like Christ stood firm on the truth and did not bow down to the temptations of the devil, we too should do the same and stay strong in the midst of challenges".

Then, the teachers were divided into groups, as Fr. Akthem Hijazin, parish priest of Ramah, moderated a discussion about the importance of Christian schools in teaching the science of life and the faith to our Children. One participant shared: “Faith is planted by parents of the children. But it is we (teachers) who water their faith by the guidance and help of the Holy Spirit".
