Spiritual retreats during the Lenten season for students of the Christian schools in Jerusalem 2008

Scholastic Year 2008

The Catechetical Office of the Latin Patriarchate in Jerusalem organized four spiritual retreats at the Monastery of Salesian Fathers, Beit Jamal, for students of the Christian schools in Jerusalem. The total number students who participated in these gatherings totaled 400.  We started with the twelfth grade on February 8, 2008 and ended with the seventh grade on Friday, February 29, 2008.

The theme of day was directed by Father Peter Madros from the Latin Patriarchate, Father Ephraim the Jerusalemite from the Coptic Church, and Pastor Hossam Naoum from the Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Each of the retreats dealt with the topic of “ecclesiastical and community affiliation.”

The students were keenly involved in the program of the day, having active participation in prayers, asking questions, groups sessions, entertainment periods. The retreat days were very enriching on all levels - spiritually, social, and cultural.
