The Pastoral Office concludes its fifth meeting in Beit Jala Seminary

BEIT JALA – On Saturday, January 13, 2018, the Pastoral office of the Diocese of Jerusalem held its fifth meeting at the Latin Seminary in Beit Jala, almost all of its members present.


The following items were addressed:

The Family Pastoral Project

The representatives from each region discussed suggested topics to be included in the program.

They suggested launching the project in August, during an official celebration in Nazareth, the town of the Holy Family.

Work in Parishes

Father Ibrahim Shomali, accompanying Bishop Boulos Marcuzzo, will begin a pastoral visit to meet with the parish priests, aiming to present the project, to select the spiritual animators and to choose the families.

Preparing the Spiritual Animators

After discussing the characteristics of the animators, the members addressed the importance of having preparatory training sessions for them. March 23-24, 2018 was proposed for the training session to take place in Jericho.

Next meeting

The next meeting will be held in Beit Sahour on Saturday, February 10, 2018, where the members will discuss in detail the program of training for the spiritual facilitators and the outcome of Fr. Shomali’s visits.
