PARIS – The Apostolic Administrator of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem visited the French capital for a day. Accompanied by Fr. Wissam Al Massadeh, a priest of the diocese of Jerusalem who is currently studying in Paris, he was able to meet many personalities. This Wednesday, January 17, 2018, Archbishop Pizzaballa devoted his day to many visits and meetings in Paris.
After con-celebrating Mass at Notre Dame Cathedral, the Archbishop went to the Collège des Bernardins. This cultural center of the diocese of Paris offers many courses that cater to both clergy and faithful. He later met the priestly community of the parish of Saint Charles de Monceau in which Fr. Wissam is staying for his year of study at the Center of Sèvres.
In the afternoon, Archbishop Pizzaballa had an interview with the new Archbishop of Paris, H.E. Michel Aupetit, whom he congratulated and encouraged in his new mission. The two talked about their respective dioceses and the Apostolic Administrator asked the new bishop to encourage pilgrimages to the Holy Land as a sign of solidarity and support to the Christians of the Holy Land.
He was later interviewed by Philippine de Saint Pierre, general manager of KTO, French Catholic television, for a program that will be broadcast on January 22 at 7:35 pm French time.
To end the day, the Apostolic Administrator went to the headquarters of L’Œuvre d’Orient to meet the management team of this humanitarian association serving Eastern Christians. This meeting allowed him to thank the association for the important help that is given to the projects of the Latin Patriarchate and the religious communities in the Holy Land.
