JERUSALEM - In response to the initiative called for by the “Aid to the Church in Need” organization, to join a Rosary prayer campaign for peace and unity in the world, the Catechetical Office of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem has called on all Catholic schools and parishes in Palestine to unite together by praying the Rosary at the same time, on October 16, 2021, between 8:00 and 10:00 AM.

The Catechetical Office organized the Rosary prayer for Catholic schools in Jerusalem at the Latin Patriarchate Co-Cathedral, where 50 students from Terra Sancta/ St. Joseph School, 35 from the Brothers School, 60 from the Rosary Sisters School, and five students from Our Lady of the Pillar School gathered to pray the Rosary together.

At the beginning of the program, Rosaries were distributed to the children in preparation for the start of the collective prayer. The recitation of the Five Joyful Mysteries was distributed among the participating schools, with the roles of the recitation of the Five Mysteries being in the following order:

  • First Joyful Mystery (The Annunciation) recited by students of Our Lady of the Pillar School.
  • Second Joyful Mystery (The Visitation) recited by students of the Brothers School.
  • Third Joyful Mystery (The Nativity) recited by students of the Rosary Sisters School.
  • Fourth Joyful Mystery (The Presentation of Jesus at the Temple) recited by students of Terra Sancta/ St. Joseph School.
  • Fifth Joyful Mystery (The Finding of Jesus in the Temple) recited by all students.

After the prayer, everyone was blessed and thanked for participating in this prayer for unity and peace in the world, being sure that the prayers of our children had been heard through the intercession of the Virgin Mary and St. Joseph, the patron Saint of the Church for this year.
