Celebrating the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin in Jerusalem
On Monday night, August 14th, 2023, on the occasion of the Feast of the Assumption, in the garden of Gethsemane, the vigil of the Solemnity of the Assumption was held along with a procession with the statue of the sleeping virgin Mary, from the Cenacle to the church of Gethsemane.

Francesco Patton, the Custos of the Holy Land, presided over a mass in Gethsemane Church; A celebratory mass was also held at the Dormition Abbey Benedictine Church in Jerusalem. The celebration coincided with the reopening of the church after the completion of the restoration work.
