Christmas Bazaar at Abraham's House: Women's Handicrafts Available in the following languages:

JERUSALEM - Giving an air of Northern Europe to this emblematic neighborhood of East Jerusalem, Abraham’s House has decided to honor women's handicrafts during this first weekend of Advent.

On Saturday, November 27, from 10 am to 5 pm, more than 60 exhibitors, mostly from the Silwan neighborhood, will offer you a magical and yet very authentic Christmas: from jewelry to crockery, cosmetics and fashion accessories, you will find handmade sweets and local specialties that you can taste in the wonderful garden of Abraham House, taking advantage of the animations and concerts planned to make this day a real celebration.

Many women's religious communities who participated in the day of friendship on June 5 in Abu Gosh will present their crafts, which are also very diverse: icons, ceramics, organic jams, candles, embroidery, hundreds of gifts evoking the Holy Land and telling their recipients you missed them.

These women, from different religions, different nationalities, with very different lives, will spend the whole day together, to get to know each other better and to discover their common destiny: to put their know-how at the service of their community or their family to offer them a dignified life. All these nuns, all these mothers, sisters and daughters proudly present their work, the result of their imagination and talent, after sometimes long hours of vigilance, seeking perfection while already thinking of the buyer's satisfaction.

In front of this handicraft exhibition, we immediately think of Gibran Khalil Gibran's phrase, "work is love made visible", and when it is expressed in feminine terms, it also contains all the patience and resilience of entrepreneurs who know how to reconcile modernity and tradition, beauty and utility.
