RAMALLAH, AL BIREH - On Friday, March 31st, 2023, the General Administration of the Latin Patriarchate Schools in Palestine launched, in the presence of His Beatitude Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, the "Creative Teacher" and "Creative Student" competitions, in the Red Crescent Theater of al-Bireh, Ramallah. The event, entitled "Creative Day", was attended by many priests and sisters, as well schools administrative and teaching staff, parents and students.
The schools of the Latin Patriarchate believe that art contributes to refining taste and personality. Art elevates people's human and spiritual values. It also contributes to creating a positive social atmosphere characterized by interdependence, harmony and love.
Therefore, the Creative Teacher Competition aims to support teachers' creativity by rewarding innovative and unconventional methods and initiatives aimed at creating a generation of thinkers, discoverers and researchers capable of keeping pace with changes and facing challenges. Its objective is also to create positive competition among teachers, and thus contribute to raise the quality of education in the schools of the Latin Patriarchate. As for the Creative Student Competition, it aims to highlight the distinctive energies, talents and abilities of the schools' students, to enhance their spirit of competition and creativity, and thus to refine their personality scientifically, educationally and artistically.
This "Creativity Day" initiative is being held for the second year in a row. Two internal and external committees were formed to follow up and highlight the excellence of teachers. On the other hand, the "Creative Student" competition started in the beginning of the school year, targeting students from seventh grade to eleventh grade, in six areas: music, rhetoric, standup comedy, drawing, singing, and dance.
We congratulate all the winners and all those who participated. And, until another year of creativity, we wish progress, success and distinction to the Latin Patriarchate Schools of Palestine.
