LETTER – Please find below the letter that Fr. George Ayoub has sent as he approaches the end of his mission as Chancellor of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem.
Your Beatitudes and Excellencies,
My Brothers priests and men and women religious,
My friends,
Greetings to you in Christ Jesus,
As I’m approaching the end of my mission as Chancellor of the Latin Patriarchate and before going to Rome to continue my studies in Moral Theology, I would like to address a thanksgiving letter.
Firstly, I give thanks to the Lord who guided me throughout this mission. I have depended upon Him and fulfilled His will with joy. I’d like to thank everyone for their cooperation and compassion which I experienced during my work here. I want to especially thank H.E. Archbishop Pierbattista Pizzaballa, my dear Patriarchs and bishops, brother priests and religious men and women from whom I have learned so much.
I likewise thank the Order of the Holy Sepulcher, the civil authorities, the Latin Patriarchate employees and all my friends for their love and moral support of me during these past five years.
I thank the Latin Patriarchate priests for trusting me to be a member of the Presbyteral Council. I thank all those who called, wrote and prayed for me as I prepare for my new chapter in life. I thank the Lord for your love and I ask Him to bless your good work at the Latin Patriarchate.
Please forgive me for any shortcomings on my part during my years of service. I will keep you all in my prayers and I hope you keep me in yours as well.
Respectfully,
Fr. George Ayoub
