NAZARETH – On Tuesday, March 7th, 2023, Mgr Rafiq Nahra, Patriarchal Vicar for Israel, held the monthly meeting for the priests of the Latin Patriarchate and the parish parishes who serve in Galilee, which was held in the Latin Archdiocese of Nazareth.

On the first Tuesday of every month, the priests of the Latin Patriarchate, along with all the parish priests who serve in the diocese hold a spiritual meeting to pray together and learn about upcoming projects and the pastoral life in the diocese.

The meetings are held according to the geographical area. Hence, parish priests who serve in the West Bank met last Tuesday, March 2nd, 2023, in the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem.

The Lord’s prayer was recited to begin the meeting, then Mgr Nahra raised several topics for discussion, which revolved around improving the services provided by the Church to the parishioners.

They discussed various topics which included: establishing a pastoral committee focused on serving the families of the parish, a series of joint preparational meetings for marriage, and the formation of a committee concerned with providing developmental courses for the Catechism teachers of the parishes.

The idea of a future project was also discussed. The project aims to provide educational courses about the Bible and the History of the Local Church for lay people.

During the meeting, preparations were made for the International Youth Day, which will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, with the participation of a youth group from various parishes of the Holy Land.
