Patriarch Pizzaballa welcomes delegation of Real Madrid Foundation
JERUSALEM - On Tuesday, July 20, 2021, His Beatitude Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, welcomed Mr. Iker Casillas, Deputy to the Real Madrid Foundation CEO, alongside a delegation from the same foundation, in presence of bishops, priests and Latin Patriarchate employees. The Delegation had also the opportunity to visit the Co-Cathedral and to listen to a brief history of its construction after the re-establishment of the Latin Patriarchate.
Since 2013, the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem and the Real Madrid Foundation have been working together to implement sports programs at Latin Patriarchate schools in hopes to promote in students the positive ethical values and professional techniques in sports, as means of social integration of those who find themselves suffering from any form of marginalization.
