HOLY LAND, Jaffa - On November 7 and 14, 2020, 35 children from different communities of the Hebrew-speaking Catholics in Israel gathered at Our Lady Woman of Valor’s courtyard, to receive their first Communion and Confirmation, where Fr. Rafic Nahra, Patriarchal Vicar and Fr. Renato, the Director of the center, celebrated the Holy Masses, in the presence of the children and their parents.

On Saturday, November 7, divided in two separate groups in two Holy Masses, 23 children received Confirmation, after a two-year course with Fr. Benedetto Di Bitonto. On Saturday, November 14, in one Mass, 12 kids, received their First Communion. All the ceremonies were held outdoors. The children came from different communities of the Hebrew-speaking Catholics in Israel, the majority were from the Philippines, and others from India.

These celebrations usually take place in May, after the children receive catechist classes and are prepared to receive the Sacraments. Yet, after months of delay due to the restrictions imposed after the spread of COVID-19, they only received the Sacraments last week.
