JORDAN – On Friday, February 3rd, 2023, in the theater of Terra Sancta College, located in Jabal Al Lweibdeh, young men and women celebrated Saint John Bosco. The day of celebrations took off with the Mass, which was presided by His Beatitude Pierbattista Pizzaballa, Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem, and concelebrated with Mgr. Jamal Daibes, Patriarchal Vicar for Jordan, during which the JECBand performed.
The celebration was attended by several youth groups, and previous secretariats and leaders of the JEC, and a number of priests and nuns. The two dear guests of the meeting were Fr. Peter Hanna, who came all the way from Lebanon to celebrate with the youth, and the musician Fadi Saadeh.
During the celebration, this year’s slogan was launched, titled “Filled with Joy”, which was followed by a theatrical performance about the need to focus on the Joys of life, and to be optimistic, despite the presence of challenges and difficulties in one’s life. Then, Fr. Peter Hanna, gave a spiritual talk about the meaning of joy and the way we can live this joy in the various seasons of life.
After whom, Dina Hijazin, from the Youth of the Messengers – a youth group located in Northern Zarqa – gave a life testimony about her adherence to every moment of Joy, hope, and perseverance during her battle with cancer. And, on the occasion of the World Day of Cancer, which fell on February 4th, young men and women who are either in university or working, showcased the several books they wrote to encourage the warriors and heroes of Cancer in Al-Hussein Center.
The day was full of games, challenges, and songs of praise and worship led by Fr. Peter Hanna ad the musician Fadi Saadeh. Ragai Badr, from the Immaculate Conception youth group, in Al Husun, won the challenge of the day entitled “Keep your eyes on the youth”.
The meeting was concluded with the blessing of the attendees by the spiritual leader Fr. Wajdi Twal, and Fr. Peter Hanna.
