JERUSALEM - On Tuesday, October 27, 2020, H.E. Bishop Boulos Marcuzzo presided over the investiture of two Latin Patriarchal seminarians to the Soutane; Basel Baransi and George Ziadeh, in the Co-Cathedral of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem.

The investiture was concelebrated by Bishop Kamal Bathish and Fr. Yacoub Rafidi, Rector of the seminary, and some Latin Patriarchate priests.

Due to COVID-19 imposed restrictions, the Mass was limited to the clergy, religious women, the relatives and colleagues of the two seminarians.

At the beginning of the celebration, Fr. Yacoub explained that this investiture was the start of a public commitment to be consecrated to Christ and formed to His likeness.

In his homily, Bishop Marcuzzo said that wearing the soutane is not a privilege, but a responsibility to serve Christ and to represent His Church.

“L’habit ne fait pas le moine”, he continued. “There is a difference between your true self and oustide appearances. We should not only appear as religious men and woman and consecrated, but we should embody these words."
