A few months ago, the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem retrieved the Knights Palace building aiming to restore it back to serve its main purpose it was initially built for. The Latin Patriarch, Pierrebatistta Pizzaballa aspires to create an infirmary and retirement residence for the retired LP priests and bishops, guest rooms for private guests of the LP and offices for the LP employees at HQ as well as redesigned space for the priests and sisters’ convents located on site. This project aims to rehabilitate the building for better utilization of the space. In this stage, an external local architecture firm will be hired to create designs for alterations and redevelopment of the building to create a functional, safe, and sustainable place to serve the priests, employees, guests, and the local community in the Holy Land.
