NAZARETH – On Friday, March 31, 2017, took place the third round of the Bible Contest for adults, presented by the Annunciation Family Club of the Latin parish at the St. Anthony Pastoral Center in Nazareth and presided by the Anglican Bishop, Mgr Suheil Dawani, accompanied with some other pastors.
As usual for this kind of contest, the participants competed as a duo of siblings, friends, or associated partners, all adults of 40 years and older.
The names of the participants for this Friday were Nojoud Okal – Suher Okal, from the Latin Church of Shafa’amr, and Soheil Farran, from the Latin Church of Nazareth, with Bernadette Haddad from the Melkite Church who won the round. The second duo was composed of Siham Khoury – Maysoon Zahran, from Melkite Church of Ibilin, and Issa Khamis – Boulos Farraj from the Latin Church of Nazareth who won the selection. Out of experience, the initiative of this biblical contest appears to be not only a healthy emulation, but also a good occasion of collaboration and unity among persons and communities.
Fr. Nael Abu-Rahmoun and Rabab Zaher ensured the jury, this time. The presenter of the evening was, as usual, the famous radio speaker Mr. Fehmi Farah.
The young singer Mary Manassa, in the interval between the two sections of the contest, delighted the participants with some popular and religious songs, accompanied at the piano by Adib Bishara Sakhnini.
A large audience of parents, relatives, friends, as well as some priests, nuns and interested people attended the competition to support the candidates.
