Amman – October 4, 2025 – The Latin Vicariate of Jordan held its first-ever spiritual retreat for administrative employees under the theme “The Vicariate Family: United in Mission and Service” at Our Lady of Peace Center.
The gathering brought together staff from across Jordan representing the various departments and institutions of the Latin Patriarchate, including the Ecclesiastical Court, the School Administration, the Finance Office, Our Lady of Peace Center, the Catholic Center for Studies and Media, the Family Pastoral Center, and the General Secretariat for Youth.
The day began with a Holy Mass presided over by Msgr. Iyad Twal, Patriarchal Vicar in Jordan, coinciding with the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi. In his homily, Msgr. Twal underscored the importance of this inaugural retreat in strengthening unity, collaboration, and collective service among the Patriarchate’s institutions. He emphasized the integration of spiritual and professional dimensions in daily work, calling all staff to reflect Gospel values through dedication, responsibility, and service.
The program featured two main interventions: Dr. Muhannad Khoury discussed the spiritual dimension of human work and its faith-based significance, while Dr. Hanan Deeb addressed the concept of quality and its application within ecclesial institutions.
Working groups later identified key challenges in various sectors of service and proposed concrete recommendations to enhance efficiency, improve the work environment, and deepen the sense of belonging and shared mission among all members of the Vicariate family.
