On Tuesday, August 5, 2025, His Beatitude Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa conducted a field visit to the lands of Deir Rafat, accompanied by Adv. Zaki Sahlieh, Director of the Endowments Department, to explore possibilities for land development and enhancement of its future value in a way that serves the Church’s mission.
During the visit, His Beatitude met with the religious community of the Deir Rafat Sisters, sharing moments of prayer, reflection, and spiritual fraternity. At the conclusion of the encounter, His Beatitude expressed his deep gratitude and appreciation to the Sisters, who accompany the Patriarchate daily through their silent yet powerful prayers—prayers that strengthen hope and uphold the Church’s mission, especially during these challenging times.
He concluded the visit by imparting his blessing to the Sisters’ community, affirming the importance of their continuous spiritual presence at the heart of the Church.
